The Credit Manager (Operations) plays an essential role in maintaining and enforcing the credit policies of the Bank. This individual oversees the credit approval process, ensuring alignment with the Bank's standards and regulatory requirements.
Position: Credit Manager
Primary Responsibilities:
• Manage day-to-day operations of the credit department, ensuring customer service standards are met and that customer inquiries and disputes are handled efficiently, fostering a culture of fairness and clarity.
• Provide leadership within the credit operations team, setting practical objectives in line with the Bank's broader financial and growth strategies.
• Encourage and oversee coordination between the credit department and other bank divisions, such as sales, marketing, and compliance, to ensure consistent approaches to client service, risk management, and product development.
• Handle the due diligence and credit approval processes within established bank guidelines, aiming for optimal credit quality and risk control.
• Guide the team in adopting new credit technologies and methodologies for improved efficiency and risk assessment.
• Manage and periodically review the bank's credit portfolio to align with the bank’s risk appetite, conducting detailed risk assessments and ensuring the health of the portfolio.
• Stay informed on market trends, economic conditions, and regulatory updates, adjusting credit policies as necessary and providing strategic insights to support the bank's business development.
• Produce and analyse credit reports, performing portfolio stress testing as required.
• Participate in various committees, providing valuable credit insights and information.
• Develop and refine credit policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
• Oversee regulatory credit reporting and ensure the department's compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks.
• Lead, manage, and develop the credit department team to enhance skill levels and performance.

Education and Experience:
• At least 5 years of experience in credit management or related roles within the banking or financial sector.

• Proven experience in managing teams and credit processes.
