The Head of Business Development will be responsible for driving Lidion Bank's strategic commercial growth initiatives, with a particular emphasis on accounts, payments, and FX solutions. This role entails identifying and capitalising on new business opportunities while fostering strong, enduring relationships with clients and partners to enhance the Bank's market presence and success.

Position: Head of Business Development

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the business development strategy aligned with the Bank's overall objectives.

• Craft a comprehensive sales strategy to continue to build on the strong growth of the Bank

• Identify and evaluate new market opportunities, including potential clients and partnerships, to drive business growth.

• Lead client acquisition effort, utilising Lidion’s proven track record and growth story as key selling points. Build and maintain relationships with key clients in the region, drawing upon your fintech network.

• Monitor market trends and market activities to inform strategic planning and decision-making.

• Foster and maintain relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry partners to enhance the Bank's market position.

• Collaborate with the marketing, the product and the development teams to gain a thorough understanding of Lidion’s product offerings. Effectively communicate the value proposition, showcasing our success and growth story to clients and partners.

• Oversee the preparation of proposals, presentations, and other business development documents.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal policies in business development activities.

• Represent the Bank at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote the Bank's brand and services.

• Implement robust analytics and reporting mechanisms to track sales performance, using data-driven insights to refine strategies and capitalize on our growth trajectory.

• Strong knowledge of business development principles, methodologies, and market analysis.

• High-level work ethics andprofessional integrity.

• Ability to work with minimum supervision with a good eye for detail and analytical skills.

• Excellent prioritizing, organizational, and time management abilities to meet deadlines.

• Ability to work independentlyand as part of a team with excellent communication skills.

• Strong negotiation andrelationship-building skills.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, marketing, or a related field. Relevant professional certifications are considered an asset.

• The ideal candidate must possess at least 5 years of experience in a similar position within the banking or financial services industry.

• Proven track record in business development, market analysis, and strategic planning.

• Knowledge of the local Maltese and the European market and regulatory environment is considered an asset.
